HUSHUPPI: DADDY FREEZE PLAYS THE DEFENSIVE AS SOCIAL MEDIA CRITICISM SOARS

  • By: Agosu Sewanu Omoleye

In another twist to the arrest and impending prosecution of Hushpuppi, a social media sensation arrested in Dubai with his crew for financial crimes, Daddy Freeze has been variously fingered as being a friend to the accused and so have no moral justification of any sort to speak against financial related crimes.

I a swift reaction to this, Ifedayo Olarinde takes to Instagram and puts up a bold face while reading from the Biblical gospel of Mark 2:15-17

“While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Reading from the scriptures is nothing new to Olarinde also known as Daddy Freeze, an extremely popular broadcaster and leader of the defiant ” Free the Sheeple ” Movement.

Freeze in recent years has made extreme criticism of mainstream Christianity his major occupation.

Rightly so, he had taken to the cleaners, Pastors who feed on the thithe of congregants, compelling them to pay a tenth of all their income which according to Freeze has no basis in the new testament.

” They are thieves, robbers and fraudsters,” Freezes’ Sheeple cried out.

Eight months ago, Freeze had a meltdown of his own, although without knowing it then. He met in Dubai with then suspected internet fraudster, Hushpuppi, real names Ramon Abbas for a mini documentary to promote the Hushpuppi brand.

While dangling the drumsticks of a well barbecued chicken and couscous and listening with regale to Hushpuppi boast of paying his cleaner ₦250,000 and driver ₦700,000 monthly salaries, Daddy Freeze never asking the source of Hushpuppi’s wealth made his now infamous statement.

“Hushpuppi’s driver earns N700,000 month while you that abuses him on social media are doing houseboy work and earn N35,000 a month… Instead of you to beg Hushpuppi to hire your father as a driver,” said Daddy Freeze.

Days ago, Hushpuppi was arrested by Dubai police. His charge sheet read like something out of Hollywood movie: defrauding 1.9 million people to the tune of over ₦160billion.

Nigerians are calling for Freeze’s head as he was silent about the arrest.

Daddy Freeze is trending on Twitter but of all the thousands of call outs he had received, none could be as pungent as one from @Mazigburugburu1.

“Freeze derisively asked peeps to bring their fathers to come work for Hush. This leader of the “Free the Sheeple Movement” forgot his senses on the expensive plates that he was served the Arabian couscous and Drumsticks and went on a tirade about how people are jealous and should be grateful to Hushpuppi for paying cook and driver huge salaries.

“…… Bro, you are a hype man and an enabler of Yahoo Yahoo.”

With the bashing he has received, Hushpuppi’s may not be the only one to go down, that road to the hell of public opinion, Daddy Freeze may be needing the help of his Sheeple to escape a joint destiny.

His attempt to meander is currently not yielding as voices on the social space are so loud. At the moment, Daddy Freeze is forced to rely on the scriptures of Mark 2.  Afterall Jesus also ate with sinners in the same Middle East though cusine may be different from what Daddy Freeze had.

THE SHIFT IN TECHNOLOGICAL PARADIGM AND THE NIGERIAN REALITIES

By: Omoleye Technology is a veritable tool to achieve deliberate, planned and sustainable developmental goals. It is the bedrock upon which every meaningful growth is built. The development of any geographical place is directly proportional to their efforts at improving their technologies  and applying same to their everyday life. It therefore can be summed up as a scientific knowledge for practical day to day purpose which is rooted in applied science. The first world nations of the world realized early enough, the importance of technology and its inherent benefits which is the reason why they are moving in leaps and bounds today.
