DANGOTE ENTERS INTO AGREEMENT WITH ENUGU BASED AUTO COMPANY, PROCURES 3500 HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES

  Agosu Omoleye, Dangote Group has entered into a long-term agreement with an Enugu-based automaker, Transit Support Services Limited, for the supply of Shacman trucks being assembled at the Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Limited’s factory situated in Emene, Enugu State. Already, the group has purchased 3,500 trucks from the automaker worth N63bn, according to the Managing Director of the Transit Support Services, Mr Frank Nneji. Nneji, who spoke with journalists on Saturday after a facility tour of the truck assembly line at the ANAMMCO plant, said the supplies amounted to over 90 per cent of all Shackman trucks assembled at the factory since the revival of the plant after a long period of abandonment. “About 90 per cent of trucks produced here are for Dangote. Right now at the dump, we have about 300 units. Since last year, we have done 800 units. Dangote Group since inception has bought about 3,500 units from us. #ENDSARS: NBC SANCTIONS AIT, OTHERS FOR VIOLATION

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has sanctioned Africa Independent Television (AIT), Arise Television, and Channels Television for what it called a gross violation of the broadcast code, top of which is the use of unverifiable online video footages on social media. The sanction, according to the Acting Director-General of the Commission, Armstrong Idachaba, will be a fine not less than two million Naira. He warned that this will be the last warning before a heavier sanction will be introduced. The DG also announced that DAAR Communications will be fined separately for using an unverifiable news item on the fire incident at the National Christian Centre. Idachaba noted the retraction by the station but said that there must be consequences. BREAKING: IGP SETS UP A FRESH UNIT. FORMER SARS TO REPORT AT FORCE HEADQUARTERS

The formation of the new unit was announced 48 hours after the IGP dissolved SARS following a nationwide outrage. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Frank Mba, force spokesman, said the IGP had ordered all personnel of the disbanded SARS to report at force headquarters in Abuja for debriefing. “The Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM, mni has, today, 13th October, 2020, in accordance with Section 18 (10) of the Police Act 2020, ordered all personnel of the defunct SARS to report at the Force Headquarters, Abuja for debriefing, psychological and medical examination.  Alade Boye Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has been re-elected as Governor of Ondo State on the back of a campaign in which he promised to provide composed and focused leadership marked by economic growth and improved security for people in the state. The incumbent governor, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, swept to victory by winning 15 of the 18 local governments.
