Late Chief Bode Akindele
As the remains of the astute industeialist is committed to mother earth, the Olubadan of Ibadan had ordered the closure of three major Markets Tomorrow in Honour of Late Chief Bode Akindele.
The Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has ordered the closure of three major markets in the metropolis in honour of late reputable industrialist and philanthropist, Chief Bode Akindele, whose remains will be buried in Ibadan tomorrow.
This unprecedented gesture was announced yesterday by the Ekefa Olubadan, Oloye ‘Lekan Alabi, during the Service of Songs and Evening of Tributes held for the deceased at his Ibiyemi Villa residence, Alomaja, Ibadan.
Oloye Lekan Alabi delivering Olubadan’s message at the Service of Songs for the late Akindele, yesterday. Alabi, who represented the monarch at the ceremony, said the affected markets include, Agbeni, Amunigun and Ogunpa, which will remain shut from 8am to 1pm in honour of the late businessman.
The late Akindele holds the hononary traditional title of the Parakoyi of Ibadanland, which literally translates to Captain of Trade and Commerce.
A funeral service for the deceased is scheduled to hold at the Agbeni Methodist Cathedral, Ibadan, tomorrow at 10am, after which his remains will be interred at his Alomaja residence.
