APC MOVES TO RECONCILE PARTY STALWARTS IN EKITI

Considering the crisis rocking members of the top echelon of APC in Ekiti State, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a 10-man Reconciliation and Peace Committee to pacify the warring factions across different levels of the party in the state.

The committee was constituted in Ado Ekiti on  by the State Chairman, Hon Paul Omotoso.The troubleshooting committee was headed by former APC State Chairman, Chief Jide Awe, while Mr. Biodun Akin-Fasae, ex-Special Adviser, Governor’s office to Governor Kayode Fayemi, is the Secretary.

Other members are: Mrs. Ronke Okusanya, Mr. Abiodun Ajayi, Engr.Tunde Fakoyede and Mr Tayo Ekundayo, Hon Niyi Olajide and Alhaji Teslim Animasahun .

Recently, some aggrieved members spearheaded by the Presidential Adviser on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, former Minister of Works, Dayo Adeyeye and 13 others, had condemned Governor Fayemi and accused him of running the party like his personal estate.

A statement signed by the party and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, quoted the APC Chairman, Paul Omotosho as saying the composition of the mediating body became imperative considering the fact that the party has been embroiled in crises that needed to be abated in due course.

GOVERNOR IKPEAZU FIRES TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Government special announcement’ by Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere, on Sunday.   It added that the Transition Committee Chairmen for Aba North, Victor Ubani; Aba South Cherechi, Wogu and Ibe Local Government Areas, Umunnoechi Mathew were also suspended. PANDEMIC EFFECT: FG TO BORROW $750M LOAN FROM WORLD BANK

As part of efforts to mitigate the effect of the pandemic, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, says the Federal Government, is in the process of acquiring a 750 million dollar loan, from the world bank to help states recover from the pandemic effects.
